Coming Home

Acrylic on canvas, 2011, 15.5" x 18".

At the time of painting this, I could see a better world in the future. However I was uncertain whether this new world I could see was actually real. I was experiencing a lot of confusion at the time and this was probably the peak of that confusion. This painting represents punching a hole through everything I knew and planet Earth being on the other side, a message of hope.

Apologies for the issues with the photo. The words that seem to have fallen off the side are 'Anxiety' and 'Being watched'.

  1. My dear friend,

Indeed, and I see a breakthrough in your painting. A message of hope, absolutely, for a better world, for you, for all of us.

    In peace and positivity,

    Gary

  2. Thank you for your kind words, Gary.

It is important to remember the hope even when the journey is troubled. Sometimes we do have to just punch a hole in what feels comfortable, because there could be something better out there and that something is called hope.

I am glad the positive message comes through in this painting. I am feeling a little better so thought it would be good to post something more positive this time.

  3. Love it! I see the world being put back together and less of the challenges. The hope is defitnetly there, and Im glad it's all around you. I really like the whole punching a hole through the comfort, inorder to see the hope. This one really made me think, amd re-examine a couple of things in my life.

  6. Thank you for your kind words, Unikorna.

Indeed art is very therapeutic, and that is one of the reasons I enjoy painting pictures that have some connection to my feelings and experiences.

  7. LOS: Your painting is so much like life for many of us. When you have a heart... it's exposed to people, places, and things. Often I let them bring me down and punching holes is a great way to express refusal to be used or abused.
Painting is one of my favorite things. I love the way this one expresses what you felt, and now choose to move away from. Here's to you, me, and whomever else, your painting touches! :))

  8. Thank you for your kind words, Dixie.

Painting is definitely a good way for anyone to express themselves. And yes I agree that this painting here can represent anybody's life, as we do have to sometimes punch a hole through the familiar but negative influences no matter what our circumstances may be.
